Trade Journal is a personal project, built and run by one person and offered free of charge. Using it means accepting the terms below. They are written to be read, not to be skipped.

Not financial advice

Nothing in this app is financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Every number it shows — win rate, expectancy, R multiples, profit factor, Sharpe, drawdown — is arithmetic performed on the trades you entered. It describes what you already did. It does not predict anything, recommend anything, or endorse any instrument, strategy, broker or exchange.

Trading carries real risk of loss. Decisions you make after reading your own journal are entirely yours. If you want advice, speak to someone licensed to give it.

Your data is yours

You keep every right to what you put in. No ownership over your trades, notes or exports is claimed, and they are not used for anything other than showing them back to you — see the privacy policy. You can export everything at any time from Settings › Data & Backup or the Reports tab.

Provided as-is

The app is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind — no guarantee that it is free of defects, that it will stay available, or that any calculation is correct for your purpose. It is a personal project, not a commercial product with a support contract behind it.

To the fullest extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for trading losses, lost or corrupted data, missed opportunities, or any other damages arising from using or being unable to use this app.

Keep your own backups

This is the practical half of the paragraph above. Data can be lost: a browser can clear its storage, a disk can fail, a service can have an outage, and a bug can be a bug. Export a backup regularly and keep it somewhere you control. Treat the app as a place your journal lives, not as the only place it exists.

Accounts

• You are responsible for your password and for what happens under your account.
• One person, one account. Do not share credentials.
• The optional offline login gate protects the running app, not the files on disk. It is not disk encryption, and it should not be relied on as though it were.
• An account that is used to attack, abuse or disrupt the service may be suspended or removed.

Ending it

You can close your account at any time, from inside the app: Profile › Delete account. You do not need to ask permission or give a reason, and nothing has to be emailed to anyone.

• Deletion is immediate and irreversible. The account and every row stored against it — trades, screenshots, notes, strategies, settings — go in one database transaction. There is no grace period during which it can be undone, no archived copy, and no way for anyone to restore it for you afterwards.
• Anything you exported before deleting is yours and is unaffected — it is a file on your own machine. Export a backup first if you might want the journal again; once it is gone, it is gone.
• Offline, where there is no server account, deleting removes your login from the device. The journal itself is only erased if you explicitly ask for that in the same dialog — other logins on that device open the same journal.
• These terms stop applying to you when your account is deleted, except for the disclaimers above, which by their nature survive.

From the other side: an account may be suspended or removed for the reasons listed above, and the service itself may be discontinued — see Availability below.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

• attempt to access another person's account or data;
• probe, scan or overload the service, or automate abusive traffic against it;
• upload unlawful content, or content you have no right to upload;
• use the app in a way that breaks the law where you are.

Availability and changes

The hosted version may change, break, be taken offline, or be discontinued — with notice if that is possible, and without it if it is not. This is the honest position for a free personal project. If it ever winds down, the exports already in your hands remain readable on their own: the interactive HTML report needs nothing but a browser.

These terms may change. The date at the top changes with them, and continuing to use the app means accepting the current version.

This app is intended for adults. Please do not use it if you are under 18.
